February 4–6, 2027 | Raleigh, NC

Join us in Raleigh for the 2027 East Coast Regional Practicum!

This three-day in-person gathering brings together Teaching Artists from across across the Mid-Atlantic and East Coast for an energizing mix of learning, reflection, and connection. Hosted by the Raleigh Music Collective, the Practicum is your chance to:

  • Level up your practice with interactive workshops led by expert clinicians.
  • See artistry in action through real-time classroom observations.
  • Reflect and problem-solve with peers in collaborative conversation groups.
  • Build your network of Teaching Artists who share your passion and challenges.

You’ll walk away with new tools, fresh ideas, and a stronger sense of community to fuel your work back home.

Don’t miss out! Registration closes January 14, 2027. Scroll down for workshop details, travel info, and more.

About the Host organization

Raleigh Music Collective is an El Sistema inspired program that believes music education is a radical tool to change children’s lives for the better. Students can sign up for private or group lessons or participate in our weekly tuition free violin, viola, and cello classes, ensembles, and youth leadership program at two of our community strategic locations. Our program is inspired by the El Sistema model originated in Venezuela as an orchestral training program – its intention to instill excellent musicianship while effecting social change by offering dignity and purpose, as well as social, educational, and professional transformation to its students. Our program operates in communities where under-resourced students (particularly those from refugee, immigrant, and low-income families) can easily access our musically rigorous weekly classes, lessons, and orchestras.

"I wish I could attend every TATI practicum that is offered because we are always taught by experts in their fields. Through teaching observations, we are given a safe space to try various strategies with the support of fellow Teaching Artists. The feedback we receive afterwards is always so meaningful and encouraging. TATI is changing the lives of students one Teaching Artist at a time."
